What brand is a popular everyday cigarette (USA)? I recently got a visit from a good friend of mine who lives in the USA. I live in South Africa, and she realized that I smoke. Now she has gone back to the States, but as she does not smoke, she has no idea what to get me. What brand of cigarettes would you call 'ordinary everyday cigarettes' that you'd probably get in an ordinary bar, corner shop or supermarket? I want her to walk into a shop and get me something decent and send it to me. Here in South Afrca I smoke Peter Stuyvesant, Malboro and Newbury.

But, even those brands have further choices: Medium, Lights, Ultra Lights, Menthol, etc. I use to smoke camel Turkish Gold - nice smooth taste. I recomend them. Take care! Many places including open air public places are designated "Smoke Free". Smoking is NOT permitted in most hotels, restaurants, theaters, government buildings, and public areas. Some parks, and most beaches have also gone smoke free. There is just too many "sheep" here that believes that cigarette smoke, including second hand smoke, is a health risk. If you do choose to smoke here be VERY aware of where you do it, and who is around you."

cigarettes: same brand different country (outside USA)? hi, i live in argentina, i dont smoke that much (maybe a pack a month). ive read somewhere that cigarettes made outside USA are not "the real ones" meaning that the original recipe its not used outside the US. someone told me that camels, luckies and all the other american classics we smoke here are not the ones smoked in the states. what do you know about this ? do they use the same kind of tobacco used in the original recipe? do they use some kind of flavor agents to make the brand taste similar to the american version? is it really a difference between american cigs and the ones made outside usa? im shoked, what if instead of using different blends they just use the same cheap tobacco in every brand and add some "camel flavor agent" or "lucky strike flavor agent" and stuff like that.

So, I went to the market and bought a box of Marlboro Red ; I lit up, and proceeded to gag. It tasted terrible. Upon closer inspection, the label indicated that the cigarettes were made in Mexico and they did not use USA grown tobacco. Yes there is a difference. After we got home, we slipped some of the cigarettes into my son -in -law's box of Marlboro as a test........ he too, began to choke and gag on the Mexican cigarette. So, the answer is : if they don't use tobacco grown and cured in the US it is an inferior cigarette and not as smooth. I quit smoking 15 years ago and I am glad I did."

I use a cigarette machine that cost about $35.00 and you purchase the premade tubes. The cigarette machine inserts the tobacco into the premade tubes. A one pound bag of tobacco will make a little over 2 cartons of cigarettes. I use the light made tobacco with regular tubes although you can get "light" tubes too. They even come in the 100's size. My machine makes the king size and the 100's. After smoking a decent tobacco, I'll never smoke another commercial cigarette. Making your own is the way to go. There are many tobaccos to choose from as well. Most all taste better than Marlboro in my opinion. "
