On Orbitz and Expedia, is it cheaper to book flights and hotels together than booking them separately? I am planning a trip to the US. If I decide to book both my hotels and flights on Orbitz or expedia, is it cheaper to do it together, as compared to booking flights and then booking hotels?

How does orbitz and expedia get airline flight info? Do they have to pay for this information? ? I would like to start a site like orbitz and travelocity. I just don't know how to retrieve flight and booking info. Is this information that I would have to pay for? There are lots of sites that allow one to search for tickets and such, so I would imagine its free. Any help on how to get started would be appreciated!

You must have some sort of a travel sellers id such as ARC (what is needed to sell airline tickets and ticket) The sites you mentioned ticket their tickets so they are signed up with the airlines to be able to do this. There are several other sellers id you can be affiliated with CLIA cruise line international association, TRUE this is a sellers id that is used for those that are not affiliated with any of the others. This number is issued through IATA, but it does not give you the perks that IATAN does. There are a lot of different options and each have differeant requirements. You also have to register with your state depending on what state you live in. There are a few that require a seller of travel license. There are also a few states you have to regisiter seperately like FL and CA so that you"

What are the airlines that dont advertise on Pricline,orbitz etc? I'm looking for tickets.Southwest does not advertise on sites like Priceline,orbitz etc but they offer good deals.What are the other airlines that I can search on that don't advertise on these usual sites? Looking for low fares from detroit to DC.

Orbitz.........? Ive been trying to get a ticket it says 297 bucks and tehn later says due to availablitly this ticket is no longer available and that it costs 200 more. then i redo the search and its the 297 dollar one and it just keeps going back and forth should i trust them or go with another company. has anyone had bad luck with them?

What is the difference between booking a cruise through the companys website vs. Orbitz or Travelocity? My husband and I are planning our first Caribbean cruise. Is there an advantage to booking a cruise through the ships website, like Carnival or Royal Caribbean verses booking it through a website like Orbitz or Travelocity?

You can get GREAT deals, we paid 500 bucks for a week in the carribbean, not a piece together, our total with tax was like 545 plus the tips you give on the cruise later. I love cruises, I'm 25 and I've been on a lot. If you like Family cruises go with Carnival, it's very family oriented. Royal Carribbean is aimed at like 21 and up crowds, they normally have singles cruises also on the ship during their sailings. I've seen weddings on Carnival cruises and it was just so kiddie to me."

How does places like orbitz, and travlelocity get rates so cheap? I went to a certian hotel website in the city im looking to stay and its 99 a night, orbitz says i can book for only 69 a night. HOw do they get the rates so cheap?

Andy H replied: "because orditz/etc are huge travel agencies and sent ALOT of customers their way. so the hotel gives it to them for less. also orbits has less cost compared to the other website so they can sell for less."

Simon W replied: "Its very rare to get a better deal from a consolidater the best deals are usually with the hotels direct, also if you book your room and the price drops after booking you call the hotel and they will match your price, booking direct you only pay the first night as a deposit have a look here and see if this does any better"

Anthony R replied: "they may also have only a limited number of rooms at that rate. We got really cheap deal booking 10 months ahead four nights in Harrahs, middle of the strip for £123 for two. Check out as many sites but remember to write down all the deals and where you saw them so you don't get confused."

What's the best way to reschedule my flight on Delta that I purchased through Orbitz? So a week after I booked a flight to Jamaica for this next August, my friend invited me to be a groomsman in his wedding and I need to change my return flight. I bought the flight through Orbitz and the flight is with Delta airlines. What's the best way to go about re-booking the flight to avoid as many fees as possible?

Worldtraveler 777 replied: "You don't have a whole lot of options. You will have to call Orbitz and request the change since they own the reservation. They will probably charge you a change fee plus any change in airfare since the time of booking."

aflumpire replied: "this is EXACTLY why you NEVER book through those cheap sites such as Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline ect.....if you need to change dates or change names, you are screwed. If you can change your dates (and that is if), then you will need to ring Orbitz and they will charge you a lot. Airlines do the same but those cheap websites charge a lot more for changes ect than the airlines directly. Thats why you only ever book through the OFFICIAL airline website or you local licenced travel agent."

How to claim an Orbitz ticket purchased online? I'm taking a trip using a ticket purchased for me by someone else. The ticket was purchased online via Orbitz, so I'm just curious how I claim it. Do I go to the airport and just get the ticket booth to give me it, or do I print the online proof of purchase? What do I need to do to claim my ticket?

tonalc2 replied: "It's an E-ticket, so you can print out your boarding pass yourself on the airline's website (24 hours before the flight) if you have the confirmation number."

How can I extend a deadline on cancelled flights with Orbitz? 6 monts ago I cancelled two flights with Orbitz. As a result, I had to pay a $200.00 fee for each of the tickets. I get to keep the tickes, but I have a deadline to use them, they expire this october. I was wandering if anyone knew how to extend the deadline, so I don't lose the money. Can someone help me?

aprillee replied: "It is more than likely not Orbitz you need to ask for an extension, but the airline. You could try rebooking the flights and then cancelling them again. Of course, you'd have to pay the penalty again, but depending on how much the value of the tickets are, it may be worth it. You'd then have another year from the date of issue."

how long does it take to receive a flight confirmation from orbitz? I purchased tickets from orbitz but i haven't received any confirmation email and now i'm not sure if the tickets went through. i called the credit card company and apparently only $20 were charged by orbitz??? it doesn't make sense to me, does anyone who has used orbitz know?
